From R190/moCall-outs and depositsFree for 7 days and 20 documents

What is a good invoicing app for plumbers, electricians and builders in South Africa?

One that lets you quote from your phone on site, charge the call-out fee first, take a deposit before you buy materials, and invoice the balance with the same lines when the job is done, all as SARS-ready documents. Bookkeeping & Invoicing does that for South African trades from R190 a month, and setup asks how your trade prices its work.

Bookkeeping & Invoicing: three plans from R190 to R950 a month. No setup fee, month to month. Free trial: 7 days and 20 quotes or invoices, no card.

How each
trade uses it.

Set up for your trade

Setup asks what you do and how you price it: per hour, per point, per square metre, per job. Each price you type becomes an item, so the next quote is a few taps.

Call-out first, then the quote

Choose "call-out first" and the call-out fee is invoiced on the first visit. The quote for the work follows, and the customer accepts it online.

Deposits and the balance

Invoice a deposit or a percentage of an accepted quote to buy materials, then invoice the rest when the job is done. The balance always matches the quote, and a pro forma is there if a customer wants one before they pay.

Know what each job made

From Intermediate, put costs, materials and time on a job. Time logged by your staff is costed at their rate, so you see what the job really made, not just what you invoiced.

Purchase orders to suppliers

Issue a purchase order and email it to your supplier from the app, then turn it into the bill when the goods arrive.
