An invoice template
that does the maths.

Where can I get a free invoice template in South Africa?

Use our free invoice generator: it is an invoice template that runs in your browser, with every field a South African tax invoice needs, 15% VAT worked out for you, and a PDF to download. Nothing you type is stored. When you send invoices every week, Bookkeeping & Invoicing numbers them, tracks who paid and reminds who has not.

Bookkeeping & Invoicing: three plans from R190 to R950 a month. No setup fee, month to month. Free trial: 7 days and 20 quotes or invoices, no card.

What to fill in

The fields
that matter.

On every invoice

  • "Tax Invoice" (if you are VAT registered) or "Invoice"
  • Your business name, address and VAT number if registered
  • The customer's name and address (and VAT number for a full tax invoice)
  • A unique, sequential invoice number and the date
  • What you supplied, with quantities and prices
  • The VAT and the total

Full or abridged

A full tax invoice, the kind larger sales need, must also carry the customer's VAT number when they are a vendor. The tax invoice requirements guide has the whole list.

When a template is not enough

A template does not number invoices, see who paid or send reminders. Bookkeeping & Invoicing does, from R190 a month, with a free trial of 7 days and 20 quotes or invoices, no card.
